One of my many summer projects is to update and reorganize the library of community toolkits on this site with some of the great new publications in the past year or so from fellow organizations similarly working to support community participation in decision-making related to infrastructure and other projects with significant land and water use. As part of that update, today I would like to highlight two new resources that mention my work:
First, a practical guide by Cordaid on the technical aspects of oil and gas projects – with great pictures and simple explanations – which I was pleased to review and comment on.
And second, a guide which mentions this site’s library of community toolkits: a Community Protocols Toolbox by Natural Justice, which is a set of booklets about the broad set of issues facilitators should weigh when helping communities decide if a community protocol process can help them in the context of extractive industry or similar projects.
