Communities First provides technical program and advisory services to civil society and government actors on human rights-based development in the context of extractive industries, corporate accountability and natural resource governance.
In recognition of the gross asymmetry in access to information and power by affected communities and civil society organizations in these contexts, our name “communities first” draws attention to the significant investment of time and resources first needed to help level the playing field, and so support more inclusive development outcomes.
