News

This post is also available in: frFrançais (French)

I’m delighted to be speaking on this Q&A panel for ABA ROLI on October 27 in Washington, DC for a discussion of techniques for empowering marginalized communities to defend their rights in the face of large-scale natural resource extraction and management projects.

ABA ROLI and Namati will explore newly-developed advocacy tools and recent experiences to assess challenges and lessons learned in supporting local communities that face diverse natural resource justice challenges. We invite human rights and natural resource justice experts to discuss both successes and failures from around the world, where communities have sought to defend their rights through legal means, in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
